…way back in my teenage years i used to like to write poetry and draw in a sketchpad in pen or pencil.  one particular evening i was sitting in the living room of my grandparents house sketching my grandfather, who was rocking silently in his chair, clouds of smoke rising from the bowl of his curved wooden pipe.  eventually when i got tired of drawing i remember complaining to no one in particular that i was bored. that’s when one of my aunts who was there watching TV went upstairs and came back down with a reddish brown nylon string guitar in one hand, and a booklet titled “The Ed Sale Guitar Method” in the other.  she walked over, handed them to me and said something along the lines of “…here, learn how to play this”.  i had always loved listening to music, but until that moment i’d never thought about actually trying to learn to play an instrument.  i took the guitar and booklet from her, went downstairs to the kitchen, and that’s where my musical journey began.  the first 3 chords i taught myself that night were G, C and D7.  soon after learning a few more chords i became interested in coming up with my own combinations of chords to create instrumental compositions that i would later match up with lyrics i’d written.  throughout the past years i’ve spent a lot of time “listening hard” to all kinds of music and becoming particularly fond of certain styles that inevitably had their influence on the sound of my songs.  i’ve also played many clubs & stages in various bands throughout the years, but from the start my desire has always been to spend my time recording my own music, as opposed to performing live.  i’ve finally recorded 9 “Seitunes” that i’ve chosen to share as an LP/CD combination with anyone out there who might be interested in hearing more. i call this collection “For Getting and Remembering”
